Falling in love with your wedding venue should begin the moment you arrive. Our complimentary wedding show around appointments are the perfect opportunity to experience Hencote for yourself, to walk the estate, take in those panoramic views across the Shropshire Hills, and begin to picture your day in one of Shropshire’s most stunning vineyard settings.
You will be given a personal guided tour by one of our dedicated Wedding Coordinators, who will walk you through every space, from the outdoor ceremony space and The View reception area to the accommodation and estate grounds. Over a relaxed coffee, you can ask questions, explore our wedding packages, and start shaping the day you have always imagined.

Wedding venue with accommodation in Shropshire
Hencote offers panoramic views of the Shropshire Hills and our working vineyard, yet sits just 1.3 miles and minutes from Shrewsbury. The town provides direct transport to London, Manchester and Birmingham (2.5 hours, 90 minutes and 60 minutes), making travel easy for you and your guests.
The estate spans 17 acres and includes luxury accommodation for up to 28 guests. The Farmhouse, The Grange, and The Apartment each offer their own character, along with shared leisure spaces including a swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas, a tennis court, outdoor kitchen and pretty landscaped gardens. It’s an ideal setting for a relaxed wedding weekend or extended celebration.

Catering for weddings is provided by our trusted partner, Twisted Lemon, who will work with you to create a bespoke menu that reflects your tastes and style. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be introduced to their team to begin planning your wedding menu, while our experienced Hencote team takes care of the venue, coordination, and bar service.
Our talented catering team has crafted a wedding breakfast and canapé menu that celebrates the very best seasonal ingredients from trusted local Shropshire producers, beautifully paired with our own award-winning estate wines grown right here on the vineyard.

Is Hencote licensed for civil ceremonies?
Yes. Hencote is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, meaning you can hold both your ceremony and reception in one stunning location. Outdoor ceremonies can take place at our vineyard gazebo, with licensed indoor options available in the event of wet weather.

How many guests can we invite to our wedding at Hencote?
Hencote can comfortably accommodate weddings for up to 140 seated guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 250 guests for your evening celebration, making it an ideal choice for both intimate gatherings and larger receptions. For smaller, more personal celebrations, our spaces can be dressed and configured to feel wonderfully intimate regardless of guest numbers. Our wedding coordinators will advise on the best layout for your vision.
Is exclusive hire available?
Yes. Hencote is available for exclusive hire, giving you and your guests the entire estate to yourselves for your celebration. Combined with our on-site accommodation for up to 28 guests across The Farmhouse, The Grange, and The Apartment, exclusive hire allows you to create a truly immersive wedding weekend in the heart of Shropshire.
Do you have a preferred suppliers list?
We work with a number of highly recommended and pre-approved trusted local suppliers – from florists and photographers to entertainment and transport, whose work and values we know complement the Hencote experience. Our wedding coordinators will be happy to share recommendations. To ensure everything goes smoothly, we require pre-arrangement and approval of all external suppliers.
External catering companies are not permitted. Catering is provided by our trusted partner, Twisted Lemon. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be put in touch directly with their team to discuss your menu. All drinks are provided and served by Hencote.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Absolutely. Our catering team takes great care to accommodate all dietary requirements and allergies as standard, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-specific needs. Simply let your wedding coordinator know the requirements of your guests during the planning process, and we will ensure every plate reflects the same quality and care as the rest of your wedding breakfast.

Is there parking at Hencote for wedding guests?
Yes. Hencote has on-site parking for wedding guests. Our main car park fits up to 40 cars and we have overflow available. The estate is also located just minutes from Shrewsbury town centre, which has direct rail connections to Birmingham (60 minutes), Manchester (90 minutes), and London (2.5 hours), making it easily accessible for guests travelling from across the UK.
What are the hire times?
The standard hire period runs from 12pm to 12.30am, with music and bar service concluding at 12am. Ceremonies cannot begin earlier than 12.30pm, as guest arrival is from 12pm.
Licence extensions may be considered at the venue’s discretion.
When can we access the venue to set up?
You will have access to the venue from 8.00am on the day of your wedding, with all décor to be collected the following day.
If you would prefer a more relaxed start to your day, our team can assist with décor set-up for an additional £500.
Can we arrange a wedding viewing before booking?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Our complimentary wedding show around appointments gives you the opportunity to walk the estate, meet your dedicated Wedding Coordinator, and begin imagining your day in the space. Viewings are popular, and availability is limited, so we recommend booking your appointment as early as possible.

Do you offer wine from your vineyard?
Yes. There is something really special about sharing wine with your guests that was grown, harvested and bottled only metres away. All of our Hencote estate, award-winning wines are available as part of our wedding packages. You can choose from our three sparkling options (Evolution – White, Isadora – Rosé, LXX – Premium White) and our red, white and rosé (Vivienne – White, Suzanne – Rosé, or Mark – Red).
Our expert teams can work with you to pair these wines beautifully with your chosen menu.
In addition to the venue hire pricing, we require a minimum bar spend. The minimum bar spend can be made up of any drinks purchased on the day, whether by you or your guests, and will also include any pre-booked drinks or wine packages.
A corkage charge would apply for bringing your own alcohol.
Is the Hencote Vineyard venue accessible?
Yes. Our indoor bar and venue is on one level, with step-free accessible toilets and facilities. There are gently sloping paths from the car park to the front doors.
Accessible parking is available close to the main entrance. Please let us know in advance if you require assistance on arrival.
The outdoor ceremony space is also accessible via a wide pathway from both the car park and the venue.
The only inaccessible areas are our lower balcony and outdoor terrace.
Can you accommodate guests with limited mobility?
Absolutely. We recommend letting us know in advance so we can ensure seating, access routes and overall arrangements are as comfortable as possible.
